What happens if not enough Cu Feet?

I have two Kicker HX2's and as I look at the box (slot ported) tonight, I am thinking there is no way this is a 4 cu foot box.

the box is 33 inches wide by about 16 inches high and 16 inches deep, the HX2 would like about 2 cu feet per sub.

My question is this, what is the impact of not having enough cubic feet for the sub??

You are right, I meant RF, I was typing in a hurry, I have a kicker 1200.1 driving them running down to 2 ohms..

I can't wait to see the car implode, any suggestions to make that happen quicker, I dig blowing things up..

Throw some dynamite in your car, that'll work. Or you can put your car in nuetral and slam the gas until you blow your engine. As for your original question... making a smaller box will usually degrade the performance of your subwoofer.

I think you ment rockford hx2's. Kicker doesnt make an hx2. Well anyways subs in a smaller recommended box may lot hit quite as low as the larger box. Thats about the only downfall.

Um, not quite.......everything changes as box size changes; Frequency response, power handling, transient response, output, peak frequency, etc etc. And that's even assuming we maintain the same tuning frequency.

Mckenzie=owned.

Subs will not sound good in a box that is half the rec size however take a listen and see what you think. Figure out the exact size if the box and tuning, my guess is that is is around 2.5 or so. The box will sound great and lound on certain freq and and terrible on others. Smaller boxes produce a bigger peak in freq response .

"And how was that post of any help! Stay on topic!"

Since when has anybody on this board been known to stay on topic??

The measurements I gave was the external box size..

then your fuked maybe you should think about building a new box, i can design a box for you that will have them subs slamming to their full poRtential.... free of charge just LMK if your interested
