Disabled your ELD?

Not sure what this is or how I can find out.

Then rest assured you're killing your system little by little. The ELD cuts the alt when it doesn't sense a load, which it won't from amps. You will need to locate it, unplug or bypass it, then improve your electrical from there. Adding anything without getting the ELD taken care of will do little at all.
