What guage wire???

I have a kicker 801d(800rms) and just got a kicker kx600.4. Now, and the guy who installed my amp for my sub only used an 8gauge wire. Now i know I need to go bigger, but not sure how much bigger.(4g or0g) I really need help. He used some cheap *** rca's and my system gives me a lot of distortion. Can someone just break it down for me what wires I need and for what?

4ga is what you need now

0 ga is what youll need eventually when you upgrade..........

spend it now or spend it later

4ga will be more than enough, u can kinda get by with 8ga but try and get 4ga

i would go 0 ga. and run a fused distro with 4 ga to the amps...give u a lot of versatility and u won't have to upgrade more later when u want to go even bigger...
