The main things in my car are rap (purely for the bass), classic rock (black sabbath, led zeppelin, etc.), rock (metallica, disturbed, etc.) and metal (in flames, pantera, system of a down, etc.)

I wouldn't say Squad Five-O is an awesome band anymore... lol their latest release was horrible. The bass player from my band and I went to the tour they were on to promote that CD and it was at a major venue and there were at most 15 people there. It was hilarious. And they didn't play anything off Bombs Over Broadway and thats all i wanted to hear lol. I haven't listened to squad five o in forever. But anyway, Squad Five-O has to their credit the most prophetic album cover of all time. This came out August 15, 2000 ... And look at the picture...

ya i agree but imo squad five 0 started to **** after thier self titled album, i loved it!

as for metal, i agree a majority of the metal bands are reused cookiecutter same chord transition doublebass happy bands, but listen to some in flames and tell me they aint talented.

to play metal(or any of its subgenres: death metal/speed metal/grindcore/whatever), you have to be skilled and be able to play fast ... yes, extremely technical, that's true. however talent is a VERY different thing than skill.

i hate how that gets utterly confused in music these days...

on the other hand,

whether or not its enjoyable is apparently a matter of opinion, so many of you like it, it just bothers the hell out of me.

Its like.. mac dre isnt rap, he is sub-urban west coast "hip hop" rap..

Agreed. There are some ridiculous bands out there like Nile and Pig Destroyer that just sound absoulutely stupid.

hehe pink floyd i would classify as "CLASSIC ROCK"

as for the diff types of metal, its true. I have a really hard time distinquishing DEATH/BLACK metal, and Glam/Hair metal i dunno, but you can definitely tell the difference between, lets say Melodeath, Progressive Metal, and just normal Death metal.
