What gauge power wire?

What size cable do I need to run from the battery to the distro block, and then to the amps?

I'm going to be running a kicker ZX1000.1, 1000 watts at 2 ohms and a soundstream reference200, 45 watts x2 at 4 ohms.

Amps are going to be in the back of my full size Blazer.

Use 1/0. Never hurts to have a little more than you need, especially if you ever consider upgrading.

Always go as big as you can fit. You may not always need it, but it will make life easier on your amps.

4 gauge would be sufficent, but its best to have headroom.

i myself thought 4ga will do but after a year, i upgraded to much larger amps and rewired everything.

if money isnt a big issue (which shouldnt be since you got yourself a zx1000.1 you sob you lol), then go with 1/0ga or 2ga.

btw what car is this going in?

Well, money is a little bit of an issue after I bought my Q12 and the kicker amp. I'll have to wait a little before I can spend a whole lot more. I don't plan on upgrading probably ever. Maybe swich out my 5.25" Boston R series comps to some 6.5's, but that's about it.

It's all going in a '88 full size Blazer.

Use 1/0 gauge like everyone else said. I also had no plans on upgrading, now I'm about to run my third set of wires in less than 6 months //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. You will also get slightly more power out of your amps because they will lose less voltage.

It's not a lot of money to get a 1/0 kit.
