what exactly is the big three

hey yalls i plan on upgrading my system and someone told me to do the big three...as of now...all i know that i need to replace 3 or 4 wires and i know one of them is the negative of the battery am i correct...what are the other 2...and how exactly do i change them...do i just buy 2 battery terminals, and use 0awg wire with a terminals?
