What ever happened to Snail Shell enclosures?

Then I challenge you to come sit in my vehicle and prove me wrong, when I strap on some 34hz notes on you at over 145db with a pair of 10's..........over 150db at 44hz.
Prove me wrong, I have a horn in my car that's extremely loud, can you prove otherwise?
At no point have I argued that you do not have a loud enclosure and subwoofer combination; rather, I have argued that you do not have a horn at low frequencies, which you just confirmed for me.

Ask yourself: if it is 5dB down at 34 Hz from 44 Hz, is it functioning as an acoustical gain horn at those frequencies?

The answer, quite simply, is no.

Wow, talk about bending facts to fit your argument.......

Let's leave the horn thing alone for a second, and go back to a standard ported box, tuned to around 35hz..........

at 36hz in my car, theoritically, say I hit 140db, it's a ballpark number, based on past setups. At 44hz, I hit 144, at 32hz, I hit 138db.....

you fail to account for cabin gain once again, it applies to every enclosure, not just my horn.......... Just because I'm 5db louder at that frequency does not mean that I'm 5db down when talking box design. 2 different animals.....

I have a gain, given by my car, at around 44hz, been tested proven, and built around a few times. So ANY enclosure in my car is going to hit 4db or higher around that frequency.

Heard of resonant frequency????????? That is why my car is much louder at 44hz. It has very little to do with the enclosure at all, I've had multiple enclosures, horns, transmission lines, standard ported, they all are 4-5db up at 44hz, even when tuned to 32hz.

I encourage you to get a differential mic and prove myself (and the laws of physics) wrong.

I have no idea what you're talking about, and nor do you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

clearly horns work in large vehicles... show me two 5 watt, 4 inch speakers, doing 126dBs, at 44Hz, in a musical setup other wise? and still playing well down to 35Hzs...

now, these midranges, were technically in a 20 or so litre sealed enclosure... which, would do about 100dB in car... in a ported enclosure, they may have done 110dB...

as does every potentially informational thread on caraudio.com... btw b&w i like the new sig...
Yea... I guess I should be used to it by now... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Thanks on the sig comment. Much cleaner than my old one... That thing looked like SHIT...
