its a very low 'highpass filter', used so your sub does not over excurt at extremly low frequencies. if you have a ported box. its a good idea to set it around 10hz lower than the tuning of the box.

if you dont use it, you have a good chance of popping the cone off your sub.

yea, 2.5 cubic feet @ 35Hz.

then on it goes.

if you play anything much lower than 25hz in that box. you will risk bottoming your sub, and theres a good chance you could\will damage it.

so what would you recommend to rebuild and, tune a box for this @? and, would it worth it?

IF the setup sounds good as is and you dont really have any other reason to rebuild, then dont. Leave it be, leave the SSF on, your tuning freq is at 35hz and from what you said the SSF is set at 25hz.
