What does this bracket do?

It's a bracket that has 2 bolts on either side so no cutting would be involved fyi.

i have one of those on my car and i have to take it off to remove the battery. well the bolts were rusted and they broke so now i have it left off.

Youre dumb. If it was a pump or something IMPORTANT, I would agree. But it does nothing except stop some body flex, which probably doesnt do anything anyway.
