What does RE have on the xbl^2

OHHHHH....im dumb...learning tho! How is that though? Are they like the same company or some shit? i thought that waz only adire....

no... adire owns the rights to it.. im not sure exactly how it works, im not sure if RE is developing some sort of XBL^2 type thing for themselves or they are paying adire rights to use it. i have no idea... look on RE audio's site about hte XXX and it says XBL^2 under the description. im out though. advil's kickin in 1.

isn't the xbl^2 kinda the same as the dual gap tech. in the H2's?
Well, not really the same, but the same concept. IIRC, the H2 (and other "dual gap" subs like the PPI DCX series) actually use two separate top plates and a 2nd set of magnets to create their "dual gap", whereas XBL^2 just uses a single top plate to create the dual gap. And then, IIRC, JBL had a "dual gap" design that actually used two separate voice coils.

Here is a pic of the PPI dual gap motor: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v351/npdang/IMG_1436Medium.jpg
