What does "sub phase mean"

alright, on my jensen uv8 hu, on the audio menu where i turn the sub on and off, it has more options to where to can change the sub phase from 0* to 180*, and another option that has somethin to do with DRC or somethin like that...does anybody no what any of this means.

 
the 0 or 180 phase.....0 means when the rest of the speakers will push out, the sub will push out.....180 is reversed, and this is used with an invert mounted sub

You're not going to know until you test with a meter. Typically even carpeting a box as opposed to painting is going to lose a few tenths.
