I dont know anything about powerbass amps...However I am trying to find a 5 channel amplifier that will run my girls system in her honda del sol. My first choice was going to be the baby belle... 50x4@ 4 ohms, and 400x1 @ 1 ohm. I know I can get one for about $200-$250. The mids and tweeters will be run active. 50w for the tweeters is plenty, however 50w for the mids seems just a bit low. I owned the big belle, and that thing was a MONSTER. However its double the price! And its too long anyways.
The specs on the powerbass say 75x4 @ 4ohms and 500x1 @ 2 ohms.(this way I get 25w more on the mids, and 100w more on the sub) Is this highly overrated?.... Its really tough to find a 5 channel with a decent price that puts out around 400-500+ sub channel. Most of them only put out 150-300 at most. I was really trying to keep the amp around $200...
Would I be able to run the speakers @ 4 ohm, and the sub @ 2 ohm on this amp? I dont see why I would not be able too...I know its a dumb question but I have been in and out of this hobby too many times.
I really dont want to end up buying 2 amps. I really dont. The install would be so much easier, and cleaner with one amp sitting right on top of the sub box.
Thanks.
Kris
