What does a blown sub sound like?

Are you sure it is hooked up correctly? I blew my subs and it didn't do anything....didn't move, didn't vibrate...just got hot and started smoking.
Yeah one of my subs smoked alot and didn't move in or out. The other sub's cone moves in and out but makes that grilling noise I was talking about.

Then they are busted...remove them and look at the voice coils...you will see little to nothing left of them. Busting your subs sucks...gotta learn to set gains correctly...

Jee last time I checked a blown sub did not sound like anything. Because it is blown...

Just take it back to the shop. There is no way we can guess what the problem is, over the internet.

you might also want to check the back of your box.. Does your box have a terminal cup on it?

This happened in my buddy's car. The stereo shop he got the box from only glued the terminal cup in, and after playing his suns for 2 days or so the terminal cup popped out... Sounded exactly like what your describing, i poped the teremianl cup back in and screwed it in this time, and its all good again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
