Everywhere I look i'm told to go alpine, but I realy like the new Jvc KD-SHX700. What i'm looking for is mostly that is dosent skip at all, but it would be nice to have something that looks good to. Would I be makeing a big mistake buying the Jvc or should I buy an alpine or something else, i'm looking to spend under 500$

jvc to kenwood can all be durable go by the features you like THEN the look.

Wow under 500? U got a very very very wide selection to chose from. I myself would recommend an alpine deck. Im not sure about exactly how cheap you can get it but a CDA-9835 or a CDA-7998 would be extremely nice

Yeah, I would go with Eclipse, Pioneer Premier or Alpine 98xx series over JVC.

eclipse can not always be had because the retailres are so far away.

but my brother got a eclipse CD5444 from a retailer for $430 installed, and i think thats pretty **** good. i have a cheaper alpine CDA-9827- and it plays my MP3 discs @ 325kb\s with no problems, never had it skip.

for 260 new (cda-9827) thats a freaking deal. ~$40 for the install equpment (not car specific and crappy freaking "insert tab A into slot c-2" instructions) and then a few hours trying to figure out how to put that crappy install kit together, then the HU breaking because you got it on ebay and you have to buy a new one. i mean come on.

its worth it. for HU's - crutchfield is incredible.

a buddy of mine has a ford tarus, and the dash-kit costs $75+ because its "custom" for the car. and this is online. crutchfield gives it FOR FREE. and thats simply amazing.

Not for nothing, I dont go by what some dumb, non-high school diploma having fuccing rapper swears by....thats whats wrong with the car audio crowd, Xzibit tells pimple-faced, permit-having kids that Audiobahn is what he rocks, and they 'follow the leader'- I'm not a follower,and I chose to be a leader and judge things for myself, learn to be a critic.....

I'm suprised that you didn't get a giddy that they mentioned Zapco //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif Honestly, I'm quite impressed that they'd know who Zapco is.........considering they are pretty "blingless" and not totally mainstream
