I'm trying to come up with a system for my car that sounds satisfying, but doesn't cost a fortune. I don't need earth shattering bass or anything like that, but I would like a nice audio experience. One that easily rivals stock systems.
My only real limitations are budget (~$400 max for components), and the fact that 5.25" is the largest I can fit up front.
That in mind, after reading a bunch of reviews, this is what I've come up with:
Head Unit: Kenwood KDC-X794 (22 watts x 4 RMS) -- ~$220
Front 5.25": Eclipse SE5000 (30 watts max RMS) -- $40
Rear 6"x9": Eclipse SE6900 (75 watts max RMS) -- $50
Amp: JVC KS-AX3002 (65 watts x 2 RMS) -- $60
The basic plan is to run the 5.25" speakers off the head unit, while the 6"x9"s would have the JVC amp driving them. This is just an initial plan after a few hour's research; open to any/all suggestions.
