What do you think of a mileage based tax?

I'll accidentally break it twice a week. Their 10 dollars tax money will cost them thousands.

Yeah, like the govt won't fine you for breaking their stuff.

yeah, thats a not very thought out idea. Not to mention there are fucking odometers in EVERY CAR EVER. Couldn't they just read it once a year, if they wanted to actually implement such a tax?

No one would roll back the odometer.

If they went by the odo's in cars, I would buy an old car where it is possible to turn it back.

Pop the cluster, roll it back a few grand, pop it back in.

Even easier than hooking the GPS to a battery.

If they put gps's in cars, it would be great to take one from someones car, then strap it to a trapped deer/bear/turkey/pelican/etc. The .gov would be raking it in then.

I would swap my cluster out with one that has low mileage when it comes time to tax my mileage.
