What do you installers get paid?

Why do installers never seem to wanna answer this question?
Ok, how about this, what is the average wage for an installer for a basic shop with minimal experience?
Two of my friends have been installers for about 5-7 years and one makes 18 an hour while the other gets 16 an hour plus commission when he's on the floor selling. (2 diff. locations obviously)

i help out at a buddies shop and he pays me by the job. for example he paid me $70 for a job that took me around 1.5 hours a week or so ago. but sometimes i go down there and there is no work to do so i get paid nothing.

It all depends where you work. I know guys that make over $100 an hour, and I know guys who make $15 an hour. It all depends on how many years expieriance you have, and what kind of work you are capable of.

One high end installer I knew was making over $80k a year for his work.

**** thats awesome...what type of work did they do? if you know...im kinda contemplating trying to go to a shop as an intern or whatever or working for minimum wage to learn alot more complicated stuff...other than just wiring a car lol

CC pays around 9.50-10.50 starting, then after probationary period around 12-13 per hour plus a monthly bonus check on how many points per hour you have (certain installs count for a certain amount of points, charted with how well the store is selling audio equipment and comes up with a certain dollar amount you get extra per hour)
Dang, Im going to apply there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Yea i know a car toys installer who made over 85k last year after taxes. You just need the right location

But anyways ive worked at 3 shops, a car toys, local and now best buy. BB is noncommission just hourly but honestly i make more than i have anywhere else plus im not having to do anything too time consuming or hard. Like cartoys some jobs with make you a ton of money off commission but those dont allways come around, some days youll sit around and make jack shit all week, where at BB i make the same no matter what i do.

I know hired on installers with mecp basic get about 9-12 depending on where you are, despite what people say best buy is a really good place to work
