What do you cover your boxes with?

paint is pretty easy...i did a custom paint hob on my last one that requires no artistic skill...just crackle...i try to get you some pics...very easy to do...

for example, you can probably carpet a box in 30 mins - 1hr. to properly paint an enclosure it can usually take DAYS. some people that are VERY intimate with their work will literally take months to get the paint right.

looks a little messy in pic...i wasnt done with it yet, plus it looks better in real life...when you apply the crackle, if you wait longer for it to dry, it wont crack as much...i wanted thick cracks, so i didnt wait as long...

itll take a few days, but that's only because you have to let the piant dry...it wasnt hard...in that pic, i hadnt applied the polyurethane coat (smooths it out and makes it shine more)

basically, apply two base coats of red (in my case) latex paint, apply crackle glaze, wait about an 1-1.5 hours or more of it is cold, and aplly the black coat (this coat you want o apply fast b/c it crackles instantly, and dont wory about paint strokes), then apply polyurathane overcoat (i did three so that it is thick, but this step isnt really neccessary...i could have done better...i wasnt very nit picky when i did it and i used cheap piant...youll want to use something thick...

Wal-mart. Go to the automotive department. Floor mat isle.. it should be hidden under the floor mats. They sell it for like 7-8 bucks a roll. they got a variety of colors too.

i didn't know walmart had carpet. i was thinking of having this girl i know do some cool artwork(grafitti). anyone done something similiar?

you could pay an air brush artist to paint something...they do t-shirts...why not enclosures...

If you plan on carpeting a lot, PE has the deal I got 5 yards for a lot less then how much it would cost at walmart.

I like to use regular flat black paint, sometimes I will overlay it with a spackel texture. I have also custom painted some boxes in the past. The only downfall of painting is the time intervalls between coats.
