Not sure what to tell you about why this happened other than being over-powered. What were the circumstances in the minutes leading up to the failure, or did you happen upon this accidentally?

I just happened across it, they sound pretty good still considering the condition of the xover's not sure if I'm gonna repair them , get new ones or just get new comp's. As I said, hopefully the coils are fine. The cap in the link is exactly the same rating so it will sound the same.
