I have a budy that want's to add some oomph to his civic.

He's got an aftermarket head unit, but that's it.

Same strapped for cash scenario as many of us though, so if you had 500 bucks to spend on used/new kit, what would you go for and what kind of dB do you think you could make?

It's going to need to sound OK for daily driving too, so some cask on components/ deadening in the doors and I guess a 2CH for the front, then the rest on bass.

if its for daily you gotta get atleast 4 sets of tweeters so you can hear your highs then get like 6 sets of 4 way cause 4 way is the best 6x9's that way you have the 6" for mid bass and the 9 for low bass youll hit like over 230 dbs!! my cousin has like 10 sets of 6x9's and he blew out of windshield!

anyone put anything together on a buget recently ho has some real advice?

I'm running 2 E8's from 700rms @ 2ohms in my truck and that only cost me $400 to put together including the box and wiring, it's not going to win and dB drags but it's a sh!t load better than what you would get for $400 from best buy.

I know it can be done on a budget, was just looking for some options.

my subs/amp was like 500 or so total, maybe a little more almost 600 i think not sure.. im sure it might be hitting at least a 140, havnt ever been metered so no exact numbers but 140 for daily is good enough
