See if anyone can figure this out

I had a weird incident lastnight while on my way to Wal-Mart. While in the Tahoe, I was switching preset stations on the FM part of the radio when the HU would shut off(for 1-2 seconds), the subs would make a loud thump sound then the HU power would come back on. I tried a diff preset number and same thing....happened like 6 times lastnight. I've had this happen before but usually once or twice. My system doesn't consist much right now but the HU is the 9835 feeding to a comp set of CDT seperares, for now until the cold weather goes away so I can hook up the 4 ch amp, then to the big PA amp which powers the subs. The gain on the amp is between 1/4 and 1/2. I installed/built everything myself, and took my time doing it making sure it's done right the 1st time. I have no idea what is causing this...hopin' someone has experienced this problem too...

could it be simply a loose wire on back the hu or gummed up contacts on the face plate?

Dirty contacts on the faceplate maybe.

Try pushing gently on the face next time you change channels and see if it still does it.
