I have an el cheapo crossover right now and looking to get something pretty basic, but does a good job. Was looking into the Audiocontrol 2xs, but not sure if it will suite my needs. Does it do a good job for just two amps? Never used an Audiocontrol before, so I am not sure if I should look else where.

Throw some ideas out there and I am trying to stay under 200 smacks for it and don't need it to be huge as I want to put it where my old Lanzar crossover is in the trunk well.

Thanks.

As far as money well spent.. if there is nothing wrong with your Lanzar x-over, maybe you shouldn't replace it. I know Lanzar doesn't have the greatest name recognition in the industry, but from 11 years of experience, I've never heard a Lanzar x-over i didn't feel was doing its job. What does the rest of your system consist of? Maybe the weak link is somewhere else.

Nothing is wrong really, just want to maybe clean it up some and though a better crossover would help.

Hell I only spent like 35 bucks on the Lanzar, so can't really be dissappointed in it. Just from expierence from swapping out crossovers I have noticed a big difference. This was from a cheap coustic crossover to a Clarion back in the day though and was wondering if a better xover would do anything in my current setup.

Also a few people say you have a PRS 880 and using a cheap Lanzar? Makes me thing, you know. Not that those people know everything, but just wondering I guess.

System consist of

Pioneer 880-PRS

Alpine SPX Type X 5 1/4" Componet set, need installed, but deaden doors first.

Rear-Stock off HU power for the kiddies, lol!

Kicker CVX 12" in a 1.5cft Sealed box facing trunk.

1 750.1 Autotek amp

1 400total watts Clarion amp on componets

3-WAY Lanzar x-over on everything

2 Kinetek's 1 2400 up front and 1 600 in back

0/1g Kicker hyperflex wire to dis block and 4g lanzar wire to amps and what not

100sqft of Fatmat

40sqft of SS damplifer, I have a lot of deadening to do yet.

I'm currently running a PPI DCX-730 and it's an awesome unit but good luck trying to find one. I've ran an audiocontrol eqx and that was a nice unit as well. On the cheaper side I've heard the Memphis crossover is nice.

I've heard of some people switching the mid RCA with the tweeter, and killing the tweeters by sending them 80hz to 3.5khz instead of 3.5khz to 20khz.
