Recently sold an old sub of mine and a couple days after install, this happened. Any guess as to what caused it? He had it on an Audio Legion 1600.1 and in an aero ported box around 1.3 cubes I believe. It’s a DC Audio Level 4 10.
This look crooked to anyone?

Playing below tuning with to large of a box. A longer coil would fix that. The lvl4 was built to be a burp sub not really a daily sub. It models quite poorly for anything other than a burp box
A severely Braced and double to tripple Layered Enclosure, usually Capped and or reinforced Endsok. I gotta ask
What’s a “ burp box”?

Oh. So when the box belches. It belches everything out the sub woofer?
Lol it's a box designed to play a very narrow frequency range with the most efficiency and lowest box rise to maximize the power input. You pretty much only play test tones where the port is doing nearly all the work so mechanical power handling is pretty much maxed out and thermal limits are what stop you. But 30sec tones mean heat build up minimal at normal levels.
It just a competition box that is basically a 1 note wonder. They generally **** to listen to and are bad on the sub for daily use.
The DC lvl 4 subs peak high at tuning regardless of box size and tuning which is why they can rate the box size so low. It won't be musical no matter what you do
Pretty much.. And generally Heavy as Fvkso a box is like a dragster? Built for all out power over a short distance. All out power or blown engine.
