what capacitor should i get

i have a 1600 watt amp that i'm going to hook up and i just wanted to know what and how big of a capacitor should i get.

None. Don't get a cap.

Hook up the amp and see if you have any electrical problems (voltage drop). If you do, come back and tell us how severe they are and we can work on a remedy for you. But a cap is not a remedy.

squeak...would i need a multimeter to measure the voltage drops?...****it it sucks being so lazy...

not to thread jack though...again...u don't need a cap...if u have voltage drops than a deep cycle or HO alternator would be more expensive but the right upgrade to cope with voltage drops...

which would be better to go with optima red top or yellow top? i went with the red top to power car and system should i have went with the yellow(bringing it up since you brought up deep cycle)

Well, if your car doesn't have a voltage gauge in it, then yeah, you could use a DMM.

a cap will just put more strain on your electrical system, what kind of vehicle is the stereo going in

this is what i'd do buy the best looking the coolest looking capacitor and run that but dont actually install it just wire up the cool blue leds and neons lights.

use it just for looks.

its a freakin giant capacitor its a novelty item. pretty soon someone is going to build a million farad capacitor and it will be a road side attraction until it blows up the southern west half of the united states.

GET A BETTER BATERY FIRST BEFORE U GET A CAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! red tops are a lil cheaper annd get the job done very well. with 1600w a red top would be fine for you......
