ELemental 13kv.2???

A friend of mine came up to me an ask me to run him a quote on a new sub and amp for his 69 mustang. I told him i had a good idea of what he should get. THe system he has that i am up against to beat is an autotek 590.2 and 2 rockford p.2 12" subs. THe amp puts out 295x2 at 2 ohms. they are in a dual chanmbered ported box to 30 hrz out of 1.3 cu.ft. per side. if we just traded the p.2's for the edk's would there be noticeable change in quality and loudness? Or would a new amp have to be in the picture? Also, what is the rms wattage for one 13kv.2 bc the webpage doesnt say it anywhere.

also, would the atlas maybe be better than the edk's and would the wattage from the autotek be sufficient for 2 12" atlas's?

RMS for the 13kv2 is around 300w IIRC. 300-400w of music power won't pose any problem for them.

Either the 13kv2 or the Atlas 12 would be fine off of that amp.

Both are good drivers, which is "better" really depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

im trying to accomplish a good sounding system better than the p.2 output(Loudness). THe subs will also stay in the box they are in. Pretty much comes down to which is better for decent loudness and keep clean, the 13kv.2 or the atlas?

Honestly, either would probably work pretty well. Their T/S specs aren't dramatically different, honestly. Qts is about the same (with low Q setting on Atlas). The 13kv2 has a slightly lower Fs, but also a more compliant suspension.

I'd just choose whichever you find most appealing, as both drivers will perform very well for your application.

The 13kv2 that I heard sounded good. It played all types of music verywell, from rap to classical. Very natural sound in my opinion.
