nevermind ported boxes are two complicated
"Two" complicated?  Or too complicated? Either way, it's not any different than a sealed enclosure for the exception of a port/vent and a few more added pieces to the puzzle/box, as well as specified tuning.  Pictured below is a pic of my most recent finished sub enclosure, t-line. It was fairly easy to build, as long as you follow the plans/drawing correctly. And Those of us who have been building boxes a long time will find it easy, but in this case it was several more pieces to assemble vs. a regular ported box.

My brands, Sundown, and DC Audio.

I see Sundown, SSA, FI, Dayton, DC, CTSounds and ImageDynamics as the most common brands.

As far as box, If you plan to build it, I recommend you post a WTB box design. Should be like 20-30 with a cutout sheet (maybe a few bucks more). All you do is buy wood and follow instructions.

Make sure to KNOW the subs model, amp model and area where box will go.

Only to people who don't know how to make a box.  lol

I've made numerous boxes for others as well as for my own cars.  Once you understand the principle of it, building a ported box is simple.  There are countless ported box "calculators" online to help.  Imagine doing this using equations back in the day without the internet.  That was difficult.

Ive enjoyed the American Bass XFLs thus far, I ve beat the crap out of them and even played mildly and never had any issues. Money well spent. American Bass XO series subs are pretty decent for the money.Dayton HO subs are nice for the money, Ive enjoyed a couple sets of PSI platform 2, and 3 subs.. a few Polks, cheap Lanzar Max Pros, Alpine Type Rs,Elemental Designs,MTX 9500 series,Sound Qubed HDS and HD series older versions,Some older USA made Audiobahn AW series subs likethe AW 1008T, and AW1006t,Immortial series,Bostons,JBLs,Eclipse,The Skar VVX series was a decent sub,Audio Tehcnix Trapo series,NVX subs are not too bad, ran a pair of 12s that did fairly nice,Some old earthquakes old Kicker Still water series,M&M,JLs,MB Quart,S.Streams,God Fathers,Atomics,Arc 1ks,older DD subs,Older RE subs,Older SPL DVC 1 ohm subs did nicely,Icons were some nice subs,SA I never got what I wanted out of them after about 8 different enclosures but did do nice just not what I was expecting,FIsubs were really nice prob should have kept those 4 12s.there are quite a few options out there. Just depends on what vehicle you have and what spece you are willing to give up and what kind of power you are wanting and all that comes with a budget, possible electrical upgrades ect to be considered and type of music along with proper tuning/proper enclosure for that sub/subs
