What brand sub L7 or JL W7?

quality not quantity,thats how life should be lived..thats goes for girls,cars and sounds..w7's is that man who drives the bmw 7 series,comming home to his 6 bedroom house and his super model wife..the L7 is for the guy who buys wine in a box and..well thats bad enough..sure people here who have L7's will hate me for this..but phuck it who cares..if i gotta be hated for telling the truth,then call me bin laden the most hated phuck on earth..

W7>L7....10,12,13W7 have GREAT SPL & SQ...and they sound hella better than a L7 would ever sound....L7's get loud but they are tiight....and the coils get weak after a while and the loudness will eventually wear off...as for the W7 they can take a beating as long as the power that you give them is reasonable....they don't let up at all...I've smelt burning voice coils on L7's after 20 minutes of playing time...but on my old 10W7's...never smelt voice coils after playing them.....so W7 > L7

I smelt Voice coil on my L712's with only 1200 split between them, they always stayed loud but that smell yuck.

my MX seems just as lous as the 2 if not louder, but im running 2 times the power and upgraded electrical system now

methinks there are some opinions in here who are uninformed, misinformed, or pre-dispositioned...

the L7 could get louder than the W7, depending on install, but in reality, the W7 should be the louder woofer. and not only should it be the louder woofer, but it will do so while sounding much better than the L7.

when comparing the two, there really isnt much of a comparison, W7 is the better woofer, all around the better woofer. except for one area. price.

so think to yourself, do you want to spend alot of money on a W7, or much less on an L7 that you will probably be just as happy with...

i have been noticing that people seem to think that the Q in SQ stand for quiet. the W7's can get pretty loud. L7's can also get loud. but if you are talking about what the better sub is, i would say it's the W7.

I have a guy saying that the L7 hits harder then the Jl and that no other brand can compare... what do you guys think?

i'm sure it's been said 'it is install dependent'. Beware of blanket statements, especially 'never' and 'always'.

The one that hits harder is the one dropped from a higher distance, tell him that.

...no other brand can compare sounds like he just hasn't been exposed to enough brands in enough installs.

My friend has a JL w7 12" and I have the Kicker L7 12". Both in ported boxes, in trunks of similar sized cars. On about the same wattage (750). The w7 is WAYYYY louder and sounds alot better. Personally, I'm not extremely impressed by the output of the L7. The box I have it in is on the small side and tuned to 32hz....but I still dont see it comparing to the W7 in ANY way. (someone wanna design me a box that'll help me outperform the w7? ;p )

I'd have to agree with ya on that. I'm no expert, and I havent been around a whole lot of high end systems, but people must admit that the w7 is a beast. But for the price my friend paid for his w7, I could get 4 L7's. But you get what you pay for. And I still wanna hear 1 L7 even compare to the 1 w7.

for the price of a W7 i can find probaby 5 or more other subs i like better then it.
