just go the AVN7000, the blaupunkt components, and the 2 MJ18's in the jeep...

my dad calls today to inform me my lease is up in September, so it looks like this setup is going to be yet another temporary setup because i have NO intention on buying the grand cherokee.

right now im looking at a 2005 G35 coupe, 19k miles, leather, sunroof, DVD/Nav, the nicer wheels for $26,0000.

id say right around 25k is going to be my limit...i want this to be my first car. So far its just been a 1996 Blazer and the 2006 Grand Cherokee..

any other ideas, i want a car that gets 'decent' gas mileage, is sporty yet comfortable (im 6'3") and looks nice...

thanks guys...and once i decide on a car i can start picking out new audio!

How about an RX-8?

I too was looking at the SE-R but I've heard mixed things about the car. Overpowered and under tuned basically. It's fun for straight line speed, but the suspension and ****** make it "not so good" in the cornering and being nimble.

Dunno where you heard that, but after owning the car for 2 years the stock suspension is very well tuned, it handles great, IRS, and big fat sway bars are great for that. With a drop it just gets better. I love my car, and coming from a 240sx/maxima I knew somewhat what I was in for. The car drives great, handles really well, and is pretty darn quick with the 6spd. The auto's not too shabby either.

If you'll drop the sporty for comfortable and want to get 27 MPG on the highway, the 2007 Merc Grand Marquis are the way to go as dealers who get them as program cars will sell them for $16K. You get a 3 year/30K bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 5 year/60,000 mile warranty on the drivetrain. Mileage on these program cars is in the 10K-20K range. The options are typical power options and you get a nice trip computer unless you wind up with the cheaper GS model.

For someone who is 6'3", I'd recommend a big American car. If you want to turn it into a hot rod, then find a wrecked Crown Vic with the Police Interceptor goodies to add onto the Grand Marquis. Dual exhaust was an option in 2007 that is rarely seen but it bumps the HP from 224 to 239, so you could order the parts from the dealer if you want all new or try to scrap out the Crown Vic PI's dual exhaust.

The best part of the deal is getting one of these cars one year old for close to half off the original MSRP. You won't have to deal with as much depreciation. At least go to a Lincoln-Mercury dealer that carries these program cars (lease/rental returns) and drive one to get an idea of how much you might like it. The car sells itself.

Also available are a few 2006's for a couple thousand less if you really want to push the budget buy envelope...LOL! The few I've seen out there have a decent likelihood of coming with a moonroof, which must have been a well-pushed option that year since none of the 2007's I've seen have one.

eBay and Craigslist are good sources for finding these cars.

once you learn you will wonder why you've waited this long to drive a manual. No matter what car it is they are fun. And only lazy people think they are a pain in traffic because I drive a stick in baton rouge traffic ( which can be a *****!) and I dont complain.
