[QUOTE="1991Brougham, post: 4227762, member: 584655"] If you'll drop the sporty for comfortable and want to get 27 MPG on the highway, the 2007 Merc Grand Marquis are the way to go as dealers who get them as program cars will sell them for $16K. You get a 3 year/30K bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 5 year/60,000 mile warranty on the drivetrain. Mileage on these program cars is in the 10K-20K range. The options are typical power options and you get a nice trip computer unless you wind up with the cheaper GS model. For someone who is 6'3", I'd recommend a big American car. If you want to turn it into a hot rod, then find a wrecked Crown Vic with the Police Interceptor goodies to add onto the Grand Marquis. Dual exhaust was an option in 2007 that is rarely seen but it bumps the HP from 224 to 239, so you could order the parts from the dealer if you want all new or try to scrap out the Crown Vic PI's dual exhaust. The best part of the deal is getting one of these cars one year old for close to half off the original MSRP. You won't have to deal with as much depreciation. At least go to a Lincoln-Mercury dealer that carries these program cars (lease/rental returns) and drive one to get an idea of how much you might like it. The car sells itself. Also available are a few 2006's for a couple thousand less if you really want to push the budget buy envelope...LOL! The few I've seen out there have a decent likelihood of coming with a moonroof, which must have been a well-pushed option that year since none of the 2007's I've seen have one. eBay and Craigslist are good sources for finding these cars.
