What are some good SQ subs?

Blew a coil on one of my sa 8s today due to voltage drop, not really up to reconing it and getting a HOalt; and, I've always wanted to do a pure SQ setup so I guess this is my chance.

I have about 750-800rms @ 4 ohms to use. (I think my voltage should be fine there.) Not too much of a budget but not trying to get the most expensive sub either. My mids and highs are also being worked on as well.

Any recommendations on good SQ subs? I have an old school JL 12w6 I am thinking about using, but open to suggestions.

There was a SQ setup in a TC last weekend. JL ZRs up front with 2 Supercharged DD 2512s of a DD3K. It sounded really clean considering other DD subs I have heard. im sure the ZRs helped
That seems more SQL oriented than complete SQ. But seems like it'd sound pretty good

this is a really nice sq sub.....

SQ has more to do with the front stage than what sub you're using. The old W6 you have will be fine to use, the trick is making it blend with your front speakers to make it seem like the bass is coming from in front of you.

This^^^

But I have no idea how to accomplish it. Lol.

took the sa-8s out and inspected the supposedly blown coils and...got nothin....im gonna let a more experienced person check em out tomorrow though.

anyway, put my w6 in with my current setup and immediately noticed a difference in my entire sound. I even got flagged down leaving the video store just to tell me how clean it sounded. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/suave.gif.858fc102f7646e678ee8af7e1fbc41d1.gif

I still love my sa-8s though, I'm gonna check and see whats up with em.
