I've been using Spyware Terminator.

It seems to work well too.

Ive heard AVG is a good one. They have a free version and a paid version. Go download the free one. I personally dont like it too much. Not that it sucks just the intereface or whatever you wanna call it.. And get spy boy search and destroy like stated before. Thats a good one to have..

Also im pretty sure AVG free has the thing so you scan just one file and folder.

spyware dr is pretty good. but dont fix registry key fk ups due to certain spyware, like spybot S&D does.

For the guys that were talking about disk defrag, check out Tune-Up Utilities 2008. a ton of different apps included; Styler, defrag, registry defrag and cleaner.....the works. Nice app.

Yeah I use AVG for virus scanning, and Spybot S&D and AdAware for spyware/etc.

As for scanning a single file/folder, yes the free AVG does that. It adds the "Scan with AVG" option to your right-click menu in the file explorer.
