i want to purchase an optima yellow top for my upcoming audio upgrade, but i dont know which model to go with. the batt on my car now is 610 cca. but the optimas i have seen are no where near that low. what should i go with? price isnt an option, just quality. the higher the better, or what should i do? thanks for any input!

i just got whatever they have at autozone/summit racing.

i didn't even know there were different sizes until i joined this board.

And i'm happy with my redtop, cause it fits in the compartment where my factory cd-changer was.

awesome u have a non sealed battery mounted where it cant vent.. GO U //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

edit actually those batts are seald, but they still leaked acid in my old rex.... hmmm

Difference between the 2 modles?? I am also looking into a yellow top or maybe a red top. Not really sure yet?

Jon
red top is a starter battery you want a yellowtop which is deep cycle.

and most people on here use the 34 series //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif but the 31 series is better, more cca and will hold the charge longer.

something must've been wrong with it.....

the only reason i initially bought my redtop was to put it in the back of my jetta.

When my 1st redtop died, i put the stock battery in there just to go to summit racing to swap it, and i almost passed out from the fumes.

You'd definitely notice if it wasn't sealed.

how will how much a battery can burst mean it will last longer? the correct term for how long a battery will last is its AMP HOURS capacity......

also i would NOT use any red top optima battery for any type of stereo application...optima wont warranty it under that type of use.
