2. The simple answer is transformers. Since they can make or break the amp's sound, the majority of the cost of a good amp is invested in the iron. By far, they're the most costly part of any project involving tubes.

**** you Guys are useless for help... i got a tang band tweet for my project, it was around 16 @PE DONT CHEAP OUT ON THE TWEETS, THEY ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE PROJECT.

as far as an amp..your not gonna find much in that price range, i would surf ebay if i was you..mabye youll get lucky
