what amp should i use?

hello,

I hav a 2001 Toyota avalon with the stock 8 speaker JBL system. I am thinking about adding a single MTX 9500 subwoofer to my trunk. What amp would be able to power the sub??

depending on the coil config.. something between 1k-1500w.

A good start would be the hifonics bxi-1606 for a budget, that will do round 1300-1400w at 1 ohm.

IMO, i think you can get a better woofer than that MTX, look into something from Fi, I have a DC sounds 12" that sounds **** good off 1500w. Just do some research before buying any subs.

i hav been doing a ton a research haha nd its still hard to decide...i talked to one person and he said to only get a single cuz if i put two of the 9500's in the trunk it would just rattle the trunk nd possibly blow out the rear window haha but that is because i have a small car...i am just trying to find the best possible amp and subs for the best price

Alot of people like the Q, which sounds great, and gets loud off 1200w.

What size driver are you going to fit in your trunk?

If your not wanting to take up a lot of space check into the RE subs....The RE 10 would be great.....

I have a single 12" MTX 8500 in my truck with around 800 watts going to it. I wouldn't say it sounds like ***, but I have heard better. I'm going to sell it and go with two 10's but I haven't made up my mind on which ones I want yet. The alpine type r's actually sound pretty good and hit hard at the same time.

Sorry im a noobie nd i just dont know what to get. He had two of these subs connected to a single 100w kenwood amp. any suggestions of what would be better?
