It would go into a 2 cube 32Hz box. SIngle 12 type x

Looking at:

Alpine MRP-m1000

ZX1000.1

RSD1200.1

BXI2006

Trying to keep cost down under 3 bills.

Looking for good upgrade to my 1-12" Type R with ZX750.1. And Hopefully a noticeable difference. I mostly listen to hop hop-lots of bass.

thanks

Well for the ZX1000, I missed out on 2 easy ebay auctions because I hesitated. 1 went for 180 and the other for 155.

I was thinking kicker as well if had to spend 2-300 but I see the 1550W clarion is on sale at crutchfield for 199. I just dont think my electrical can handle that.

So now im torn about gettieng a 12 type x in 2cube ported box or 15 CVX in a 3 cube box. I still plan to push it with 1000rms. I figure pricewise their about the same.

The type X 12 gets loud too...just installed on to off the alpine 1000 watt mono and it slamed in that civic..I'd do it over he kicker 15 for a few reasons....room and the alpines better built for sure. You will need a amp that's got good power @ 2 ohm mono that subs just 4+4 dvc.

I'm all confused now. I been shopping around and dont know what to do.

I have an 05 corolla and I at least want sometrunk space being that I have some kids. My current box is 26"14"x13" with a 1.5"wide port. I really dont know what the tuning is but it sounds good with my 12 dual 4 type R on my ZX750.1.

Im just tired of it and want more without getting rediculous with the electrical and the box.

I'm set on the Zx1000.1 just cuz I have my remote gain wired up nicely and figure I could sell my old amp with the remote that comes with the 1000.

The PDX1000.1 is a little too much money.

The RSD1200.1 is also another amp I may consider if I can't find a deal on the kicker.

The sub options I referenced are a 15" type R in 3-3.5cf, a 15 CVX in 3.5cf, and 12" type X in 2.3cf@32hz.

type x 12 isn't gonna be that much louder than the current setup you have, may even be less loud since the type x is an sq sub.

you may wanna do 2 12's sealed instead or 2 10's ported. Or a bigger box for your type R

imo type x over type r any day no matter how you look at it great sq and get loud...one of my buddies had 4 type r 12s and 2 pdx 1000.1...my setup was 3 type x 12s with 3 mrd-m1005...he couldnt even touch me on the TL...i know a lot of it is in install and what not but i say go with the type x and i always reccomend the mrd-m1005 there is even one in the classifieds:)

you had more power than he did, you shoulda been louder. His type r's probably weren't even close to full excursion

get another type r and do a sealed box since you want room.

actually if i was this dude i would keep the amp you got and just go to a type r 15

I originally had 2 type r 12's dual 2's in cheap Xscorpion box bought for 200. They sounded so muddy compared to the 1-12 R i have now. I'm a little reluctant to go back to the dual 12's. I dont know.

Ya, I am thinking 1 15 type r then later bump the amp.

After reading alot here, on paper the MRD-1000 may not be as strong as the kicker or PG. It still only asking for 80 amps like the ZX750. The PG=120A and ZX1000=100A. I dont know if that's a misconception but I dont think my electrical could handle more than 1200rms before adding a second battery and alternator. Most Kicker birthsheets are 11-1400. mine is 928rms. Alpine specs 1000@2ohms 14.4. Do our cars really get to 14.4? Im not confident with that spec.
