I have an Alpine Type X, before you go off, I know its not the best, but it's going in a Miata. Currently I have a 1000 Watt Crunch Amp powering a JL sub.

What Amp would I need to make the best out of the Type X with 1000 Watts Parallel. I heard it was best to use it as Parallel, when I got the sub it had 2 + and 2 - connections and I never scene anything like it before. The thing is massive and I can't wait to hook it up. If possible I'd like to spend under $300. I'll probably just get a used amp.

2+ and 2- doesnt tell us much if we dont know what ohm load the coils have... are they 2 or 4?

O and welcome to the site!

My bad:

Alpine Type-X SWX-1242D 12" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils - Features & Specs at Crutchfield.com

Specs^

Its a 4 OHM

Someone said I could use my crunch amp at 1x 1000 at 4OHMs, but I couldn't run it Parallel, I could also get a JL 1000/1 Amp, but they are expensive.

So I'm wondering if there is another alternative. It's a 3000w sub with a max of 1000 RMS. It has 2 terminals on the sub labeled VC1- VC1+ VC2- and VC2+

I may try wiring up my sub to the crunch for now, but I want it to push 1000w all the time, cause I know the Crunch isn't always 1000w.

I wouldn't even know how to bridge the crunch to the sub, one of my friends said run it to vc 1- and vc 1+ and run extra wire from the vc terminals the the vc 2 terminals.

OH and thanks for the welcome, everyone replies quick on this forum.
