I have a 2004 Nissan Maxima with factory Bose speakers... 2 in the front doors, 2 tweeters up front, 2 in back doors and 2 in rear deck.

Without replacing the speakers... What amp is recommended? Do I have to have a 6 channel or can I go 4?

Next.. WITH replacing the speakers.. which brand is recommend and which amp then?

Currently I have a kenwood dnx 994s headunit

Thanks

well #1 we normally don't use rear speakers #2 we use subs.. way to get best sound is use 1 sub even in small box to make bass and use hp xover on other speakers so they don't distort and play louder.. so u could get 1 4 channel amp power good set of speakers in front with like 100rms each bridge rear channels to sub, it'll sound better.. if u get after market hu u could replace rears with cheaper coax (or just mids no tweets), run rears speakers off hu power, so u would have sound in back just no where near as loud as front speakers which is what u want..

2004 Maxima's I believe already have an amp powering the main speakers... I had a 04 Maxima SL I bought new and I remember it sounded fine when I just added a sub and a sub amp. If you dislike the sound of the mains I would get all new speakers and add an aftermarket amp.
