what am I doing wrong?

Can you not read?...
Why yes, I can. Can you stop being a dick?

He never stated what head unit he had, or how high the volume was turned up. He never stated if he was using 0db sinewaves, or attentuated ones. He never stated if he used any eq or crossover that might have affected his results. He claims he set it properly, but why would he turn the gain up so the amplifier is producing 65 volts? If he set it properly it should be at 36.64 volts. He also never stated what multimeter he was using and if it measures rms voltage or peak voltage. There are a lot of question that were not asked or answered. So next time, why don't you think before you post a stupid question.

ok, i got an eD NINe 1 and i have my sx 15 wired at 1ohm . i set my gains to 34.6v, i used my DMM (also a 0db 50hz TT track) but it doesnt sound loud at all(im talkin not loud at all my SE15 and a cheap amp sounded louder) until i use the bass boost. I have the bass knob plugged in but i made sure I had it all the way up when equilizing. any suggestions,do i have a faulty amp, have i gone deaf(i certainly hope not)

As long as you had the bass boost turned on when you set gain, you should be able to use bass boost without incident. Personally, I would just not use bass boost or the bass knob at all. You may also be having enclosure problems or cancellation problems.
