what am I doing wrong?

How is it possible that I my DMM is giving me 65-70 Volts if I have my gain jacked up to full on my 9.1? thats like 4000 watts with the formula.. its wired 1ohm.

its because you are using your projected load level not the load level that is being used with you dmm

how are you measuring the amp with the dmm? and what are the settings on your dmm?

I have it on 200 AC, and I just connect the positive lead to the + and negitive to the - on the speaker terminals, I tried grounding the negitive and got the same results.. this is using a 50hz test tone. I will try to take some pics of it later

Turn the gain all the way down and go from there. Nobody should ever need the gains on the nine.1 much higher than 2/3 up unless they are using an old school HU with 500mv or less output. You are clipping the holy crap out of the amp.

35 VAC is the number you're looking for, that's slightly over 1200 watts @ 1 ohm.

And do not use the bass boost! It's not needed with 1200 clean watts.

Basically because the AC voltage turns into DC voltage when an amp is clipping.

If you are getting a reading of 65 volts, either your equipment is faulty, or you did not properly set the gain. Please explain in detail, the method and equipment you used to set the gain.
