What all is needed for a 2004 Mercedes-Benz C240?

So I got a wild hair and decided to head down to Car Toys and get a new deck, price was a concern and options, and I found everything I wanted in the DUAL HD6425 deck and was going to purchase a DUAL BTM60 bluetooth module for phone connectivity (WA state handsfree law just went into affect). So find a great deal at Amazon for the deck and module, saving me nearly 100 bucks over Car Toys price and they said they would match it. So today I go in to get it all installed and the installation and parts together were nearly 575 bucks! They said they needed to rewire the entire car due to Fiber Optics being used in the Bose stereo system, that I needed a new 9 wire cable of some sort to by-pass the stock amp, dash kit, wire harness, etc. I was pretty well shocked at the price, as the initial quote I got from them was 380 for everything out the door installed.

So this leads me to my question. What all is needed to get this done? I will go ahead and buy all the necessary parts and find a reputable shop to do the job.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. If you have links to the products you recommend that would also be great.

I'll try to ask a few buddies who drive similar cars and have systems installed to see if they have had similar problems. sounds like a pain in the a$$ to me and i do have a good friend who has a VERY nice setup in his C so i should be able to get some info. shoot me a PM with your email and i will more than glaldy forwrd any info and links i can ge/come up with.

didnt read your post but...... DUAL is B A D. avoid that brand... if your trying to save money, pick up a nice lower end Pioneer or Alpine.

Well...

.. They are pretty much right on the material parts.

You're goin' to need the aftermarket harness which is ~149.99 Dash kit is ~$119.99

.... That's $269.98 - now add the H/U price - now add the labor.

.... I charge $35 if you buy the H/U from my shop - $45 if you buy elsewhere

.... Shop Fee - $5 ( Mine is - misc. items ex: crimp caps, zip ties, etc. )

.... Now add " Uncle Sam " .... $500 - $575 seems about right to me...
