What all goes into a single 15" xxx build?

right now the f150 is being sold and im buying a lincoln ls, now that i have a trunk and room to do a build i want to do it right. As far as a single 15" xxx goes, what would i have to do? Would i want a d2 or d4? would i wire it at 1 ohm? what would be the ideal amp? can i get the max out of this sub with the room i would have? 90% of the time i listen to rap, so should i go ported or sealed? can i get away with the big 3? or will i have to upgrade my alt? Lots of questions to be answered. I will have quite a a bit of money to drop on this once i get the car, hopefully. Any input would be appreciated, some of my questions may sound dumb, but im trying my best here.

05 model power wise will do well with 1k-1800 watts or so, 06 and up model needs a minimum of 2500 watts to even get moving. The 06 model is a super inefficient woofer.

1k-2000 watts usually can be run with stock alt as long as u have the battery back up and don't beat on it too hard. 2500 watts and up will really start to make a stock alt sweat, especially on the LS. A buddy of mine had a bxi2006d @ 1ohm in his V8 LS w/ a kinetik 1400 under hood and 2400 in trunk, and still had sum decent voltage drops. Like low 12s to high 11s when he would play a real low song.

It wouldnt' be out of the question but I wouldn't beat on it too hard for too long. People run HO alts and multiple batteries for 2 reasons:

1. Less voltage drop = Better performance

2 Less voltage drop = No magic smoke
