What about this amp for the type R?

12" Type R is rated 500rms. I was planning on giving it 600rms but I cant find a matching amp anywhere (Viper d600) so i'm just going to sell and buy a pair. The subs are DVC 2ohm, so it can be wired up to 4 ohms or 1 ohm. I've made it that far. So now every amp i;ve ever had is mono, and I think I found one that might work, and is cheap...but it is 2 channel and im not sure about how to interpret the specs or how to wire it up.

Amp:

It says 800rms x1 @ 4 ohm. I know its Audiobahn and some of you hate them...i'm assuming its overrated power-wise but what if its not? Will 800rms hurt the type r's in a sealed enclosure?

Yup.. bridged to 4ohms .. it'll work .. one type R is good enough .. if you get two of them on that amp it's sort of a waste because you wont be able to push them hard enough with that amp

My sister's has a MTX 4250D powering it. It is rated at 350W but it gets much louder than I expected. I would suggest the MTX T421D, it is only rated at 420 W and I know from experience these can handle nearly 1000W, but these are underrated and would make the sub sound great, guaranteed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
