Anyone ever have a Hifonics Z500D???

Looking at a hifonics z500d, I think its an older Zeus model. Wondering if it is a decent amp. It puts out 500x1 @ 2 ohms. My 12" alpine type-r is 500 watts rms so I thought this would be a good match. the sub will be wired for a 2 ohm load. Any comments on the z500d?? Other candidates for an amp is the z1000d which puts out 750x1 @ 2 ohms and the bx1000d which puts out 500x1 @ 2 ohms.

Hifonics is cheap, reliable power. You might run slightly below claimed power, but nothing too noticeable.

yup i have a comrade that owned it. it sucks.

typical class D, no power at all, high distortion, SUCKS.

think of another amp.

Hifonics is known for good cheap power. True, there XX line is there best and everything else is noticable different, but not a bad pick by any means.
