Problem:
Amp is on, no sound out of the subwoofers
Reason:
My amp was laying on the floor of the trunk. I had taken out the cardboard flooring to put in a large box in the trunk. I never put the flooring back in so my amp sat in the spare tire area.
Well one day while driving my subs stopped working. Look in the trunk and what do ya know, i sprung a water leak! So water got on the amp and it went to standby. Took the amp out, brought it in and let it dry. Reinstalled it and it worked fine...
But
I thought I had fixed the leak. Well apparently not, water got back in and splashed the amp again. Repeated the same as above. This time we got an arctic air blast and before I could remove the water in the trunk, it froze.
Installed the amp again. Turns on, no standby mode but the subs aren't working. Checked all the wiring and noticed the wires coming from the subs got frozen in the water. Chisled the wires from the ice, let them warm up. Still no sound.
So what do ya think: The amp no good or the wires were damaged from being frozen in the water for a few days? Like I said it powers on when I power the CD player but no sound.
