the dell dj was in the center consol as in it was not in plain sight as for the cds, i keep them under my seat... im not stupid enough to just like leave em layin on my seat.

Center console and glovebox are probably the most searched places.

I feel sorry for you because I know how it feels to be ****ed with and I hate it, but you brought it upon yourself.

yes ill admit i am i dumbass for leaving my car unlocked, but i live in iowa and its really freakin cold out so i felt bad for my g/f's bro who has to stand out there and wait for 20 minutes for me and my gf to get out there b/c the high school gets out a little later than the jr high so i figure the least i could do was give him a place a little warmer to wait.

p.s. yes the spare key has been made to give to him so i can lock my doors from now on

trust me it is very stictly enforced there is no "loitering" in the school once the bell has rang unless you are in an after school sport. kids were causing problems and we lost that privledge

Not always lock doors...I forgot to lock my doors at a parking garage in louisville and my CDs were jacked and my cd player was damaged as they tried to uninstall it.

Out of 13 cars broken into that night, mine was the only one without busted windows. And this dodge ram had its door broken off as the theives couldn't find the door handle inside I guess.

i had 4 sony 6x9's in the back window of my car when it was broken into...they were screwed down to the metal...when they opened my trunk they saw the backs of the speakers and tried pulling them out that way...the basket separated from the magnet....they stole the motors only from all four sony 6x9's

And jaycross, you sound like a really nice guy man. Perhaps a little too nice to be so trusting of peoples honesty. Most crime is crime of opportunity. Your car wasn't planned to break into, someone saw it unlocked and they took that opportunity. People can be real d***s!

As for backing into things, eesh. Be careful. It's really no different running into something at 5 then at 55. You either miscalculated or just plain missed, if it can happen at slow speeds it can sure as hell happen when you're going fast. Be thankful the slow speeds will just cause a few dents and scratches which can be easily repaired. Its not so easy to fix the human body.
