im about to make my box for my RE SX, with my current design the sub is on the front of the box with the port to the side, the problem i have is that from the front of the sub to the end of my boot is only 3" of space would this be a problem for the sub, should i mount the sub on the top of the box with the port facing forward, which would give me 2" of clearence before the parcel shelf

yea but which way is going to be the best, should i make the depth of the box 2" smaller and then make it 2" wider to account for this; which i could do as i have extra space. would the 3" be aright or would 5" be better.

OR i could make the box shorter and give it 5" clearence before the parcel shelf and then account for the 3" lost

Does anyone know if your gona get different sound from placing the sub in differnet areas, also would a parcell shelf ontop of the sub reduce any of its sound
