Not really, because he was about 1 ft. from the water when the hook straightened out and came out of his mouth. I was right there so I just grabbed it's tail and held it's body down with my other hand.

If I was going to lie, I would have said I caught something that was actually worth keeping (something good eating like a snook or red). So put your B.S. flag away, especially when the record for that fish in FL is 51 lbs. Twice the size of the one my dad caught. Although 26.5 lbs in the River is a pretty big fish no matter what it is.
