Went fishing "Big Fish" (sorry no pics)

The only time I don't bring my camera (because I let my sister borrow it to take pics of her newborn kittens, which sell for $700+) and my dad catches a huge jack. A lot of people driving by stopped to see what he had on the pole. He ended up giving it away because he doesn't eat jacks, but he got it weighed and measured. 26.5 lbs and 36.5 inches long. It was huge. It was still in the water and I ran up and grabbed the leader and pulled it onto the shore, while doing so it bent the hook and the fish got off, I grabbed it's tail and held it's body down and pushed it the rest of the way onto the shore. Some lady took a pic of it, she might be from the newspaper, if so I'll be able to post a pic, but she left and didn't get our info. Caught the fish in the Indian River.

The weird thing about it is it kept fighting from side to side instead of trying to go out into the deeper waters. I think it took him 15 min to get it in using 20 lb test.

I was ready to jump in after it. The river is mostly 2-4 ft where it was caught.

If I was going to lie, I would have said I caught something that was actually worth keeping (something good eating like a snook or red). So put your B.S. flag away, especially when the record for that fish in FL is 51 lbs. Twice the size of the one my dad caught. Although 26.5 lbs in the River is a pretty big fish no matter what it is.

Not really, because he was about 1 ft. from the water when the hook straightened out and came out of his mouth. I was right there so I just grabbed it's tail and held it's body down with my other hand.
