Well.... Were F'ed

C'mon now, all this is is right wing propaganda to stir you up into a tizzy about a black, socialist, secret Muslim President. And apparently it's pretty effective.

No one is going to come and take all of your guns away, that's absolutely crazy. But should there be a ban on fully automatic weapons? Personally, I think so. What person has a legitimate need for such a thing? Do you need to pump 50 bullets into that deer to kill it, or to stop a home invasion?

I myself and not a fan of guns and do not currently own one. However, I do fully support other people's rights to own a firearm for protection, hunting, or any other necessary reason. People wanting absolutely no restrictions on gun ownership need think critically about a few things. Where does the line get drawn, should you be able to own a flame thrower, rocket launcher, or drive a tank around, strictly because you want to and because it's "fun"?

It's like when people want to completely dissolve the EPA. Can you even imagine what some of these companies would be doing if there were no environmental regulations? I fully admit that the EPA and government bureaucracy needs reform. There will always be ways to simplify and streamline things. But to completely get rid of it is absurd. Do you value clean water and air for you and your family to enjoy? You wouldn't have those if the government didn't put regulations in place to keep things safe. Massive companies are concerned about one thing, and one thing only...money. If they can save some money by just dumping the toxic sludge outside, they'd do it in a heartbeat.

Yes, with government regulation comes some inconveniences. But just consider the flipside, and I'll gladly put up with some of those hassles. Bottom line, just chillax 'brah, no one's coming for your guns.

Being able to own guns, of any type is about more than just shooting deer and protecting against home invasion. It was put into the constitution to allow us to defend ourselves against a tyrannical government, to keep the power of this country within the people, and not in the hands of the very few that make the laws and seem to decide our fate.

I'm not claiming some massive conspiracy is underway, but gun rights and the ability to own them and defend your human rights is a much bigger message than simply having fun and hunting deer, brah. It is about being free. Not being oppressed and controlled.

I doubt a full gun ban would ever pass in the US as it would likely lead to the next revolutionary war, but it is important to be aware and conscious of these kinds of issues.

A full gun ban will never pass....all at once. However, ban them a few at a time and before you know it they have succeeded.

I guess we can be happy though if a full ban comes to pass. All of us, both law abiding citizen and criminal will be lining up to turn in our guns to make the world a "safer" place. /sarcasm

I just dont want any civiliian owning a fully auto weapon. Can you imagine someone murdering someone with one, and in the process there is an all out full-auto weaon dual? It would potentially kill so many innocent lives. Just think of how many of you act irrationally when your emotions conflict with your reasoning, the only thing that stops you is consequence of the law, or possibly the guilt from actually murdering someone

Yes god forbid we do here what our soldiers do fairly regularly in other countries. How many innocent people have we killed throughout the world in the name of oil? lol.

With the extensive background check required for a citizen to possess a class III firearm I doubt shooting up the neighborhood is very likely.

We empower those troops, I dont support it either, nor do I support civilians with guns either. At the very least military personnel drilled in to only use their weapon in defense.

The law has fairly little to do with it, it's about the difference in right and wrong, to me at least. Unfortunately you are right though, there are a lot of crazy ass's out there that will always find a way and always want to hurt innocent people.

I think that if you jump through the hoops of actually LEGALLY owning a full auto weapon, it should be fine. I don't really see the need and will never pursue one for myself, as a semi-auto with a 30 round clip would be much more accurate and just about as deadly. I have no problem with background checks and the registration of guns to keep them out of the wrong hands. But that's how it starts... give an inch, they take a mile.

just my thoughts.

They are "drilled" and trained to follow orders. No matter what they are.

Guns are awesome. Class III is awesome. Silencers are cool. Etc.

This is propaganda, brought to you to scare you into buying more guns. You do know how the NRA works, right? How many times does this sort of thing happen, and then sales skyrocket? That's the main point here. The NRA wants your money.

By the way, the list is very specific. If you didn't notice, the part where it says "Rifles:" and "Pistols:" and "Shotguns:" are designating the types of weapons they're about to talk about. They're not taking away "Rifles" and "Shotguns". How delusional are you?

And Obama can't take away your guns. SOPA got destroyed last year, and that was just trying to stop software pirating. Imagine the outburst if guns were threatened.

EDIT: On this issue, Obama is naive. The mentally ill doesn't need fully automatic weapons to terrorize people. How many shootings have you seen that involve automatic weapons at all? That's not even considering the process of getting a fully automatic rifle.
