Well, it took a month..

I used to be mormon up until about the age 13 till i decided to actually learn about other religions and studied the mormon religion hardcore...Ill never go back. There is some weird stuff in that religion.. I have done baptisms for the dead before. Have been in a temple when marriages go on. Girls broke up with me just cause i wasnt mormon. There are a lot of chill mormons. Especially mormons that live outside of utah.

But i ****en cant stand judgemental mormons..

Here is some reading material

http://www.exmormon.org/ ex mormons discuss the cult

MORMONISM IS NOT

WHAT YOU THINK

Here are some beliefs Mormons resist

telling you at first...

The LDS Church is the only true church. The Lord told Joseph Smith personally that all other churches are an "abomination." Any non-Mormon church is automatically part of the "church of the devil." No other church has the valid priesthood. The devil has even made a pact with many Christian pastors to teach Christian doctrines about the Trinity and salvation by grace. But in public we say that all religions are good and have some truth.

There are many gods. We deal with three of these distinct gods from the council of the gods: Elohim, Jehovah, and the Holy Ghost.

God, the Father, was once a man like us. His name is Elohim, and he had a literal father before him. (That means there is a god even higher than God the Father!)

We can progress to become gods of our own worlds just like the god Elohim.

Jesus is the brother of the devil, not his creator.

Jesus was not born of a virgin. Elohim had ****** relations with his daughter, Mary, to bring about the conception of Jesus. (Not all Mormons are familiar with this teaching.)

We are not permitted to pray to Jesus, but only to another god named Elohim.

Celestial heaven is near a star called Kolob.

The Bible contains doctrinal errors.

Polygamy is an eternal principle. Mormons still believe in polygamy, but just can't practice it right now.

Black people were cursed with their black skin because of their inferiority in the pre-existent life.

Native American Indians are really Israelites who were cursed with red skin because of their sin.

The current prophet, Gordon B. Hinkley, is a prophet in exactly the same sense as Moses or Ezekiel in the Bible. He has authority to write new scripture.

The first LDS prophet, Joseph Smith, saw God the Father in the flesh.

Adam did not sin when he ate of the forbidden fruit, but was merely choosing to obey a contradictory command from Jehovah.

Jesus shed his blood to offer us the potential to be forgiven if we successfully stop our sins permanently.

We cannot be saved (forgiven) by grace alone through faith alone.

Secret temple rituals where one learns secret names and secret handshakes contribute to one's exaltation in the celestial kingdom. No non-Mormon is worthy to go inside a dedicated temple.

No one who pays less than 10% of their income to the LDS Church is allowed inside a functioning temple.

It is possible to eventually become perfect by progressing a little bit at a time through eternal progression.

This is only part of the outrage.

Before you leap, know what

you are getting into.

all joking aside though mormons or LDS aren't all the bad... My Aunt, Uncle, & cousins live just outside SLC.. Right by Solitude and Brighton (Midvale??? or something else like it).

If I could pick anywhere to move to it would be SLC. The city is beautiful (in the Rocky's unlike Denver which is over 1 hour away). The Real Estate is cheap relative to other cities. Plus there are good jobs in certain industries. When I get a couple more years experience I may make an attempt to move there.

Plus over 50% of the city is non-LDS now anyway, it's really a cool mix of culture.

but the mormons finally showed up last night. I recently moved in with the G/F and I have been waiting for them to show up. As always they just wanted to know if "I wanted to hear the word of heavenly christ". I told the kids, "No, I'm not part of your cult and I don't care to be". After a few silent seconds one kid said "It's not a cult". I told him he can call it whatever he wants but you knocked on my door and I call it a cult. After that I just closed the door in thier face. I imagine they will be back next week. I think next time I'll invite them in and try to convert them to non-mormonism.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif
I invited a jahova's witness in and asked them have they ever considered satanism LOL they havent come to my door since.

i am only 15 but i am turning atheist because there are so many different religions and not a **** person has seen Jesus or God and dont they call the Bible or something in the Bible, Ghossip or something of the sort? That is all it is to me. How is one religion correct when there are more than 20 religions? People went to war over God because they didnt think the other religion was correct? I am going to start studing Budism or however you spell it because I think you should live by rules, but Budah was a real man to my knowledge as in people met him and he wrote his work and learned his teachings. All prophets supossivly heard him in a dream or saw him in a vision. Why spit b/s if there is a hell, i dont want to go, but i honestly do not want to live forever. I would get bored as poo after a while. Any comments on this?
